Terra Nova National Park

Thursday morning we prepared to leave Twillingate.  We did not have a very long drive ahead of us, so we took our time this morning.  This is a sign near the office.  I don’t think it’s a “laundry mat” we’re after, but rather a “laundromat”?

Also forgot to mention that after our hiking yesterday, we went for a drive to Moreton’s Harbour and a few other spots nearby.  We saw this fish house place.  Not sure I want to go in there.

Last night Judy and I also decided to go out for a walk to grab a few geocaches.  We came across this area near our RV park in Twillingate.  Beautiful serenity.

OK, so today we went to Terra Nova.  We’re only here for 1 night, but since it was such a beautiful day FINALLY we decided to get the bikes out to do some exploring around the park.  This is Newman Sound which juts into the park.  We locked up our bikes and continued down the path for a km or 2 on foot.

Nice area, but reminds us a lot of northern Ontario, which is great, but it’s not like typical Newfoundland.

After dinner, we had another ride.  We went to the local store for an ice cream, then we checked out these “oTENTiks” they had in the park.  You can rent these from the park.  The roof is canvas and there are bunks inside with a counter/sink area.  The BBQ in front is included!  Not a bad set-up for camping.

Tomorrow we’re off to St. John’s!
