Well, here we are, all set up in approximately the middle of the state. Delaware is not that big and is pretty much surrounded, either by water or Maryland. Pennsylvania is to the north. Gerard chose to photograph my lower legs. We really did have to put up the screen as the sun was blazing in. Not that hot, but warm enough to make it uncomfortable without it.

We went in search of the state capitol building. Is this it? The only thing with a dome.

Our first order of business in Delaware was to visit the state capitol, Dover. It was about a half hour north of us. We went up there this morning (June 7th). Cute little town of about 37,000 people. This is the main intersection...State St. and Loockerman St.

OK, so that’s not it. This is it! This is the new building, which is about 80 years old. We just walked around inside by ourselves. The people were very pleasant and helpful. We could have done a tour, but hey, it’s not that big.

Here’s the Senate room.

And the State Seal in the floor.

They have a replica of the Liberty Bell in “the mall”.
And this was on a “compass” outside the legislature.

Many of their sidewalks in the downtown area are red brick. Very nice. Overall, a very pleasant little place.

We came back to the RV to have some lunch with Tibby. He was appreciative. Afterward, we took off to the south...a round-about route to the beaches. We were on this road. Yikes! I wouldn’t want to live here!
We ended up in Ocean City, Maryland, in the south, and wanted to drive up the beaches from there. Here’s a sign at a pub we went by. Obviously Washington Capitals fans. I love the “cappy hour”.

And we had to dip our toe into the Atlantic. Not bad, actually. Probably warmer than Lake Huron right now.

Looking up the beach. The last time we saw the Atlantic, in Atlantic City, (other than flying over) Hurricane Sandy was on her way.

When we went back to the truck, we saw this sign. I was so confused!

This trail to the beach pretty much divides Maryland, on the right, from Delaware, on the left.

And here we are, back in Delaware.

It was nice to see what this little State has to offer. The terrain is pretty flat, as you might well imagine, being a coastal state. Lots of farming/crops. And tourism is big, no doubt, with the beaches. Wilmington is the largest city, with Dover next.
Off to other places tomorrow!
I’d be confused, too! Do I stop or do I go?
